Nothing really mattress. Oh, the joys of Yogic sleep!

IJR's World - 16 April 2020

Hello hello!

Time flies … how is it already Thursday?

Thank you for your many messages and inputs over the last couple of days. I am immensely grateful that you seem to enjoy these little morning notes, and that you share your personal moments, ideas and inspirations in return with me. 🙏 #keepgoing

Two days ago, after a heavy set of exercises and disrupted sleep due to our cat Fifi (who thought that 3am is a brilliant time to play with her new feather toy), I felt the need to deeply relax and go inward. Luckily, Yoga has - as always - a perfect solution: Yoga Nidra! 🧚‍♀️

Yoga Nidra, also known as "Yogic Sleep", is a powerful meditation technique that takes place in savasana (corpse pose - lying down flat on your yoga mat). It is a systematic form of guided relaxation that typically is done for 30-45 minutes at a time, and that can bring immediate physical benefits, such as reduced stress levels and better sleep. The result: A profound sense of joy and well-being! And who is NOT up for this?

Om Prakash, a lovely Yog teacher in Goa, was so kind to record a 45 minutes audio that is very easy to follow. I slept 11 hours straight after practising it! So lie down comfortably, make sure that no one will disturb you (including your pets), and enjoy the journey within.

For everyone who prefers some gentle sounds instead: My friend Raka discovered this ultra-relaxing playlist, and was so kind to share it. Play it in the morning when you wake up, or before you go to sleep... To say it in Raka's words, the music makes you feel "like levitating off the bed!"

Now, there is nothing more to say than that I wish you a wonderful day ahead with lots of relaxation and peaceful chill-out-vibes - and hopefully the best sleep you had in while. 💖

With love from Goa,
Isabelle 🌿

PS: Raka also makes amazing music! Check out his latest track "Temples" ft Malfnktion: The track is inspired by the thought of travelling back a thousand years to see how ancient civilisations thrived. The idea came to him during his visit to the Brihadeeshwara temple (1010 AD) in Thanjavur. So close your eyes, tune in, and time travel! ❤️
