Mini habits that could make your Monday!
Hello new week, and hello to you! 🧚♀️
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.
I certainly did, including roasting in the sun for hours chatting to my lovely neighbour, which led me to discover my inner - and now outer - lobster identity this morning. 😅 I am happily pink, and tanked enough Vitamin D for the rest of the week. Oh well. 🦞
Even the best weeks start with Monday.
Despite the fact that all days during lockdown have a tendency to melt into one long, lazy, eventually boozy Saturday, for me, Mondays taste like a mix of caffeine and accomplishment, garnished with a sprinkle of hope. 🦄
You know that an entire week lies ahead, like an ocean full of unchartered territory, and with plenty of time to accomplish all those life-changing, ground-breaking, one-day-making-you-famous-and-skinny-and-definitely-award-winning-and-oh-wow-how-amazing-this-would-be-you-could-then-marry-leonardo-di-caprio-is-he-still-single-let-me-google-oh-shit-i-spent-90-minutes-checking-out-his-ex-girlfriends-they-are-all-models-does-he-have-ugly-siblings-uff-why-am-I-like-this-I-go-back-to-bed-now-monday-sucks- tasks you always wanted to tackle. 🐥🙈🥴 Sorry, Leo, you have to wait for us just a little longer!
Life Hack: Start your week with forming habits that are simply too small to fail.
Don't worry if you feel you don't get all the things done you've planned for. Here is a great tip: Form Mini Habits!🌸 These guys are very small positive behaviours that are easy to do every day, e.g. for just 2 minutes at a time.
By introducing this method into your life, you effectively trick your brain into a) forming a consistent habit, and b) giving you a sense of accomplishment that motivates you to keep going. 👯♂️ For example, when you aim for the moon (or going to the gym every day, loose these annoying 5 kilos, or finally brining that story on paper that is stuck in your head for so long), you’ll won’t shoot because it’s too far away - and it involves SOO MUCH WORK. 😱
But when you aim for the step in front of you (or just do 5 push ups before your shower, eat your dinner without carbs, or write only 500 words each day), you might just keep going - AND REACH YOUR MOON. 🤗💖🌝 In this video, the idea of mini habits is very well explained - watch it until the end.
Before you now take off, take a few minutes, grab a cup of something, and visualise the hopes and dreams that you'd wish to come true. My wonderful friend Abhishek shared this amazing track all the way from New York City with us - and it's the perfect tune to close your eyes, ground yourself, go inside, and focus on the changes you want to see in your life.
🌺
I wish you a brilliant start into this week! Go and rock it.🦞
With love from Goa,
Isabelle (your favourite lobster) 🌿
